Hi all, Just testing the water I've got a Alientech Powergate S Master I purchased this roughly 3 months ago at a cost of £480 supplied with 2 maps Eco & Power (I think the maps are tailored around your immobiliser so wouldn't be of use to pass on) the device is brilliant very easy to upload & transfer maps to & from your car, with this unit your not limited to the one tuner as its unlocked,thanks

I'm not sure what it's worth to be honest you don't see many of the unlocked versions about but going by what I paid I'll say £300

I don't mean to sound rude but you have no chance at £300. Your selling just a unit no maps as there only available for your car and will only write to your car.

I think your going to be looking closer to the £150 maybe less.

how does this work?do you have to contact a tuning company and they email you a map?

Pastie this is correct you contact a tuning company i.e shark, PDT, DNA and you will read your car end file to tuner of your choice and what for a modified file to come back. Load it to device and write to car.

maps are locked by vin, HW and SW numbers and are also scrambled so it cant be viewed by other tuners

I appreciate your comments donovan, It wouldn't be worth parting with if thats the case, Ive seen the odd slave unit go for around the £150 mark so I thought this maybe worth more being a master, my understanding was the files are not encrypted on the master so could be viewed & altered with the right software?

You may be correct on this. If that is the case it may be harder to get a tuner to supply a file.

You sure it's a s master? If it is then fair play I would ask for £180 max. As these are around £220 new from alien tech.

If you are sure it's a master and not SL then I may be wrong about the files being encrypted.

cheers martziniuk, thats correct its the S Master, it stores the cars original file in bank one & the other two banks are for your modded files which can be swapped with different ones as you please, the unit only works on another car once erased by yourself, cheers
