57 TFSI Fuel Pressure Sensor

Featured Replies

Can anyone help.

This morning - amber engine light illuminated - no problems driving

OBDII fault code read P2540 - Low fuel pressure system sensor circuit range / performance.

Revved engine to 6500 rpm, when revs dropped to idle engine died and refused to restart.

Replaced inline fuel filter - engine eventually started, very lump until revs held mid range, engine now appears normal, however;

Fault code P2540 (as above) still pending - no light.

I don't believe changing the fuel filter has cured the fault, maybe just helped.

My thoughts are to change the Low pressure fuel sensor??

Is there another filter on the LP fuel pump?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Chris.

Car only done 28000 miles.

Also, does anyone know the location and number of the lp fuel pump relay?

Sounds like a faulty low pressure fuel sensor which is located on the side of the high pressure fuel pump. Very easy to replace.
