Custom seat covers for Fabia vRS??

Featured Replies

I am just about to sign on the dotted for a Fabia vRS and have been reading some threads with some interest about the difficult to keep clean seats.

Has anyone had experience of custom made seat covers for the fabia vRS?

Or maybe found other solutions - re-upholster to black or dying?

I assume the superguard / diamondbrite don't work!!

dont bother mate. i think its the seats that set the car off. just use common sense and dont go gettin in your car after you have been rollin around in mud! i keep a cover in my boot just incase i need it, but if you use your noggin they will keep clean.

Crikey! People sure are going to extreme lengths to protect there seats... re-upholster to black or dying??

I had my seats scotch gaurded and find when they do get dirt on the them it wipes off with cloth and water easy.

Just to add... most days of the week I work on site, sometimes I come away and am completely coverd in dirt, for these occasions I have a seat cover which completley cover the seat, thus no dirt on the seat... For my hands etc I always have wet wipes in the glove compartment...

After 8000 miles my seats are as clean as the day I got them, and I havent ever washed them (wiped a few marks off though)

IMO a little common sence and you wont have a problem

HTH :)

My drivers seat is starting to turn darker than the others even tho it has been scotchguarded. Its not dirt i think its more the dye off my work trouser or something like that. I had it valet at the last service and they didnt come up as clean as they were new. Time to buy a seat cover me thinks.

Maybe it's me over reacting but I hate grubby seats!!

I think I may suck it and see before deciding on drastic action like re-covering

You could cover it with leather! I did get a quote from a company called Transcal, see, www.transcal.co.uk

Not cheap but i would say worth it in the long run as not only would this keep the upholstery clean but very individual. :D

hmmm wipe clean :D

Did someone say leather from Transcal?

Looks great imo

Been contemplating the leather thing for a while but haven't got round to it.

I know some special seat covers for the fabia were made up after one chap asked a company. There are a few threads on it.

Off-topic: Quiet day at work, Seb? Nothing new then ;)

How much were the leather vRS seats?

That does look ace I must admit :D

The company you are looking for is Hatchbag. They've made plenty of sets by now and they are good quality and quick to fit/remove. Speak to Pam on 0151 639 5396

Who did that for you? Are the door cards leather as well or is it material?

It was an outfit in Gloucester recommended by the Skoda garage - he'd done works for them in the past but I think not a complete car, or at least not a complete Fabia... The garage took the seats and door cards out, he refinished them, then the garage put them back in - I know they took record photos for their use after completion, but since I haven't had to go back there yet don't know whether anyone else has had such works done.

I did have certain issues with the upholsterers that I'd have to make aware to any potential customer and thus I'd not want to discuss on list - PM if you're still interested.

The door cards are faced in matching leather - the centre of the front card is straightforwardly trimmed in the blue but the rear card posed a problem since the fabric went right down to the bottom. I thus asked for the bottom section to be trimmed in black leather which then gives the same effect as the black plastic already on the bottom of the front one. If people are already lost by this explanation, that's the reason for taking this picture:

I'd say it was really worth the
