Heistation...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm wondering if people can help me with an issue I'm having with my 08 Octavia vRS. To cut a long storey short I've had a few(!) issues with the car since purchasing it from Stratstone, resulting in the following parts being changed: throttle body, pedal, sensor and breather pipes. Basically you would start the car and it would run like it was on 3 cylinders.

The car also seemed to suffer from a hesitation issue when, from what I can tell, cold. Driving normally the car would feel 'pegged' back and almost like someone was applying the brakes as you accelerated. This seems to disappear after the car warms up.

The car was returned to on Monday after being in the local Skoda workshop getting the above parts fitted, after which the service manager drove it for 3 days without issue. However when driving the car this morning it's started to hesitate again.

My wife and myself are at the point where we want to hand the car back (and we have the finance company poised for us to do so), but are really hoping the issue can be resolved as we wouldn't get another car with this spec (Full Leather, HIDS and so on)

Any help, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, even if it's just a idea to pass to the garage!

Many thanks,

Chris

Is it remapped? Have you checked the diverter valve? These are known for splitting typically post remap but not impossible with standard map. The symtoms you describe are similar to what people get with split diverter valve.

Are far as I know it hasn't been remapped, I'll see if I can locate said valve and examine it :)

Cheers for te info dude, I'll give the car a good blast back along the coast road to see if I can reproduce the issue too.

How about the coilpacks breaking down?

Could be an Injector. My 2008 VRS had to have injector number 4 changed, prior to me buying, it as it ran on 3 cylinders at idle (though it drove fine)
