axle stands

Featured Replies

ok so i know its been asked a million times, and i have searched for it but does anyone have a clear picture of a safe position to site axle stands under the front and also the rear of the fabia? im not keen on siting them under the jacking points as that would mean having to jack the car elsewhere. im useless with being told, which is why a picture would be much easier

I just moved them slightly further rear of the jacking point, and put a bit of wood on them to protect the sills...

do you have a pic of it though?

Have you tried putting them under the rear console cup? It's a little stretch but the car is stable once down - plus it's larger area sits on the stands better.

again sorry but do you have a pic? lol as i said im useless with being told where to put them. do you have a pic of it then i know for sure. mainly for the front really as im fitting the leon splitter but i also want to swap the wheels round too

Unfortunately not. I'd suggest jacking up the side of the car and looking underneath. you will see the rear on the console cup towards the rear of the front wheel arch. this is where the wishbone connects. it should look like a round metal frame held by it's side.

Thats the area. I haven't heard anyone saying NOT to do it.

have you had yours up on stands?

it's where I normally place it unless I'm working on the consoles :)

which stands do you have? ratchet style of the more flat plated pin style?

I have both draper ratchets and a pin style with a wide mouth U mount. both fit fine.
