Fabia "C" lights

Featured Replies

hey i was thinking of doing some diy on my fabia lights, i have seen on the new octavia they have a really distinct "C" style light cluster and as the fabia aswell has this design without the "C" bit lighted you recon it would be possible to do it? or has any one tried....i could create a new led series circut all the way round, or just put a few more bulbs in :D but i think it would look quite smart in the dark

Are you thinking of the rear lights?

If so, the new Fabia has a new design on the lights too. I don't think it was that expensive to change either.

some thing a bit like this :D

Get some lamp units from the scrappy and see. Should look good though. Just make sure the wire can hold enough current for all the extra bulbs. But changing it over to LEDs would be a better bet.

thought it would looks pritty cool:) better than being chavish with lexus lights

Woah that is really good.... they should of done that with the "new" lights that came out on fabia face lift to bring it inline with new octy.

Would be interested to see how you get on.

erm just a thought! is it leagle to have just one brake light (the centre on the top of the window) cus if not im gonna some how make a row of led's for the brake lights so i spose i could do

like 3 lines in the c shape but have the center line as the brake row of led's

You need 3 brake lights, else you 'should' get pulled. You probably won't but I wouldn't risk it.

And I'd leave the middle bit as a reflector.

ye i wont be touching the reflector bit :) dont want no one bumping me

Although I think it will look great, there must be some legal issues of some sort?

Modifying your lights quite seriously... If the whole 'C' is lit up where are the brake lights going to go? Also you have to take into consideration of confusing other drivers...

Insurance company would have to be told, but I doubt they would like the idea of someone modifying approved lights...

Just a few thoughts, I am not trying to be a ****** :D

The new Octavia uses 21w bulbs to make the c shape. The technical bit is the voltage is duty cycled so when on side lights they only recieve 5v and thus arent as bright.

All you would need to do is add a 5w bulb into the side of a new style light I guess so the brake lights and side lights would all work as they would anyhow.
