forge 007

Featured Replies

hi all

basically i got myself a forge 007 which is just brilliant. but when i pulled my old dv out i noticed my valve was stuck wide open and also when i pulled it out i was expecting a fair bit of oil to be around the pipe etc but there wasnt much there. which got me thinking if theres not much oil going round then that might explain why it got stuck up there. but just want to see what u guys/girls think as i dont want the new unit to not get enough oil round and then i end up with the same problem. unless it doesnt suffer the same problem.

thanks all

The old std DV do tend to stick or play up as they get older. The Forge is a much better built unit and should not be oily anyway. There is a little special lube on the DV spring (reddish colour) but not that noticable, so i would not worry buddy.

Just to add,

A couple of weeks ago I phoned Forge and spoke to John asking if they did a service kit for the diverter valve.

They do and it is about £14, comprising a new piston, 'O' ring, top seal and some red high temprature grease to lube the 'O' ring / sides.

Wouldn't worry about your Forge item. I deal with Forge Motorsport on a daily basis and all of their products are covered by a lifetime guarantee. If the valve fails speak to whomever you purchased the valve from. They are a brilliant company to deal with : )

Thanks briskoda that's a big relief off my chest. I reakon that little bit of oil might of been from the stock dv valve leaking due to age as m8s valve did the same thing. Altho his old unit fluttered badly

When i need to regrease my 007 ill just be using the high temp grease in my shed! Stuff giving forge more rediculous amounts of dosh!!

You need the red grease as its a special rubber grease and doesn't perish the rubber O rings.
