Hi just wondered if anybody could help me out ...

My dad has just brought a 05 superb 2.5 tdi and hes wanting to put his previous alloy wheels of his vw galaxy on as they are the same pcd...

he has got these wheels...

however ive just tried to fit them and the tyres ( 235-40-18) catch on the top arms of the front strut :( however the wheels suit the car really well so hes quite gutted ...

could anyone advise a tyre size that will fit and solve the problem or should we be looking at some descent spacers

It should be 225-40-18. At least I am driving those and no problem with rubbing.

What's the ET of the wheels?

I know the 16" Superb wheels are around ET37 and from memory the Galaxy uses an ET closer to 50.

Yeah I forgot about that. I'm on Flat Fives ET45.

these are et45s and they are 8j so the ideal solution is to go down to 225s on the tyres ?
