Nice wee debate going on over on detailing world

I think the most 'hilarious' comment is yours Grizzle.

The Octavia is a "pile of crap" then is it!?

Yes, obviously I had to say that lol

Ha ha ha. Mate you crack me up. Unfortunately I agree with you to a point if I look at the newer cars from a reliability perspective. Having said that the 04 plate MKI Fabia the Wife now has is still going strong at 90k. Just had to replace a rear brake caliper but that's it. FAR better car, and the sills are not made of chocolate either so you can jack it up without it folding like a slice of warm cheese.

To be fair the car is proving fairly reliable at the moment but major things like a new dual mass flywheel and steering rack within 3 years of the cars life is not something you should be replacing, aside from that I love it it handles pretty decent and I regularly get 40+mpg it's the dealer network that lets it down.

i was gonna comment and i still might. Its the Bmw drivers i find funniest though as most of them are in 3 series or 5 series which are probably more common than vrs octavias. only time i would be happy with a Bmw is if i was in any of the Mpowered cars ie. 1m m3 m5 etc. 3 series coupe is a nice looking car but aint comfortable to drive.

I'm surprised no one has made the taxi remark like my uneducated workmates!

Read that. Interesting eh?

I have just bought an Octavia too - I actually tried to call you a couple of weeks ago for advice but ended up buying anyhoo.

Oddly you say that when I got my 5 series m sport no one n my street had a BMW fast forward 1 year and there is 4 5series!

I would love to have mine back to be fair the space inside was immense lol handled brilliantly and was so sure footed.

Offtt Iain!! Long time no hear!

Some of the comments are just hilarious to be honest all jokes aside (mine included) its actually not a bad car it's the dealership and customer services that are **** poor.

BMW on the other hand were fantastic I have to say, I think any car will suffer issues it's down to the back up and wether its there that's a selling point.

i do like bmw's but only the high powered ones, same as audi i would have any of the S or RS range but not so much the others. purely down to preference though. The biggest issue Skoda have at the moment is that some dealers and customer service staff plainly dont care. it will only get worse up here in scotland as Arnold Clark are now our biggest Skoda dealer and even called me to tempt me to use them for servicing lol

Luckily I know the guys in one of my local dealers, as my mate works in an independent garage that is part of the group.

So we will see how I get on with my one for services and any warranty work.
