Bonnet release on 2012 octavia vrs

Featured Replies

Was cleaning the car today and wanted to check windscreen washer level. Pulled the lever by the drivers door but didn't release as it should do. The lever just moves and can't feel or hear the click it makes when the bonnet is released. Is there anyway it can be done manually? Was thinking of giving skoda assist a ring tomorrow as I'm due to drive up to mid Wales on Friday. Thanks for any help on the matter

There was an issue on earlier OCtavia's where the spindle on the bonnet release lever would break resulting in a loose and wobbly lever and no ability to open the bonnet.

If you have access to Skoda Assist then definately give them a call, that is what the service is there for.

After speaking to a tech on skoda assist on the problem. Tried a few things as suggested. But no joy. Took it to capitol skoda in Newport at 8.30am and was back on the road by 9.15am. The problem as I was told was the cable for the bonnet release there is a link on to the latch and it can come undone. So was reattached and a couple of zip ties wrapped around it, will stop it from jumping out again
