CV JOINT :(

Featured Replies

Hello people, I have big problem.

My cv joint (both left and right) are broken :(

Although my mechanic can fix it, I want to buy NEW one.

But, OEM CV joint for my skoda superb is very expensive(apx 520 euros=404 gbp), for only one!!!!:(

Now, my mechanic offer me compromise, and I want to know what you think..

He offer mi to buy alternative CV join wich cost (apx 50 euro) one.

Now, I know it is worse than OEM, but how much worse?

What would you do?

And if you know, can you tell me which is best company for alternative CV joint, because there are so many...

unless its original after market ones are usually crap.Ive changed the near side one as the gator went and it ran dry and started knocking.I used a happy shopper one that was £25 and it clicks on full lock even from new.

Hmmm... :(

So I will have to buy OEM.. :( :( :(

I heard that they will often cause a noticeable vibration when in drive or reverse. And that is usually felt when stopped at stoplight., so goodbye 1000 euros :(

I forgot...tnx for answer

Yes they can, but equally they can suddenly break and than what?!

I dont know..... :(

Call the AA ...lol...

I got a complete driveshaft for my octy from a internet company and was surprised that the cv joints were genuine VW stamped

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

Go to GSF and ask for a GSP CV kit, you get everything, and read the instructions about fitting, I did a sticky if you want to get ahead on it in the How2's section.

Hell of a drive from Serbia, unless they have a local branch out there ;)

Hey my friends, now I can do small "review" about GKN cv joints...

I hope that it can be usefull for some people if they think about buying them.

They are exactly same like original, what more, I heard that GKN produce cv joint for Skoda and Skoda use them as Skoda original.

All in all, for now I'm more than satisfied, they dont make noise, they dont click and whats more important, car doesnt shake when I go reverse or on stoplight.

So to conclude for that price they are absolutly fantastic.Cheers
