A good old Autoglym going over tonight

Featured Replies

Used the workshop tonight to give the Octy a good Autoglym session after a full wash earlier.Started off with 2 coats of Super Resin all over and Autoglym window polish inside and out.Lastly gave the tyres a good coat of Simoniz tyre sheen for that wet look.I don,t usually use aerosol on the tyres as it goes everywhere and on the wheels but that was all there was to hand.Just wiped the whees over with a microfibre as they have 4 coats of Poorboys wheel sealant on and are still nice and shiny.

Just a couple of photos as the workshop was full tonight and i was working in a tight space so couldn,t get any decent angles for photos.

Excuse the inferior iPhone pics.

Looking tidy :-) Are you going to apply a wax or sealant, SRP tends not to last too long on its own?

I have got some scratches I need to Remove with a machine polisher first then I'll re do it again and put sealant on after.

Just wanted to get some polish into the paintwork first as its been a while since last time but agree SRP doesn't last long.

You say you gave it two coats of AGSRP.

How long did you leave between coats

It would need at least a couple of hours to cure or all you will do is remove the previous layer adding a second

ALSO

Get some Wax or sealer on now..AGSRP is an AIO product but its not durable at all

I left it about an hour between coats. I got to do some scratch repairs first then I'll do it again and apply sealer after.

Sounds good Stormchaser! I use Autoglym SRP and I sealed it in with Collinate 476S wax, however it took some work to apply.

In the recent rain :rain: it is now beading better than my neighbours BMW 123d Coupe that he only picked up from the main dealers yesterday! :D

Do you mean it was difficult to apply or to remove?...or maybe both?

Applying the 476s was okay, It was the first time Ive tried it following recommendations off Detailing World. It was the removal and polishing of it that was pretty hard graft. But it was quite a sunny hot day........was a bit too hot to be honest!

Even so, I am pleased with the results.

looking good

i finally managed to wash my car on Saturday, felt really guilty as i hadn't done it for a while! Most annoying part was as soon as i finished washing and leathering off, it rained! so i didnt get a chance to even polish!!! :wall:

Weather is a pain at the moment, it's either too sunny (hot panels) or too wet. Where are those nice overcast but mildly warm days when we need them?!

Edit: Gonna get a carport. Just need to work out how to tell SWMBO. Perhaps I won't tell her at all

With all this rain I hope you don't end up with a port for your car that comes with its own habourmaster

Managed to put a coat of Collinite 476 on mine a few weekends back and at least I've had very visible results of the work done - lots of beading nearly every day since :sun: (<-- being optimistic for more of this for my holiday tomorrow)

^^^Or even in it if I spend money without running it past the boss ;)

Taking the winter rims and tyres to the fitters to get them turned into wheels this morning.

All set for winter now. Would like a bit more barbecue weather before the snow arrives though.
