BIG MISTAKE

Featured Replies

Just to clarify stright away, the big mistake was not getting the Yeti but buying Libby (as a thank you for all her help and support) a personalised number plate.

She now refers to it as "my car", uses it all the time, and begrudgingly allows me to drive it, as she did yesterday, and on holiday (in MAY).

I try to point out that it is actually "MY" car but she retorts "no it's not, it's got my name on it" :wall:

So I drive my little gas guzzling runabout all the time, with it's own personalised plate, which I thought at the time was a good laugh but am now thinking it is more appropriate than I first thought

Just think the perfect excuse to buy another one!!!!

By the way how did you get on with the posh tax disc holder?

Hi Hood, point taken! Thanks for reminding me about the tax disc holder, I had forgotton all about it until a couple of weeks ago. I tried to apply it and the curvature of the windscreen is such so that the holder does not make an all round connection with the screen with the little stickies provided (no problem with the jag which I thought there would be.)

So I am contemplating an alternative means of adhesion, just haven't got round to it. I did get a holder from tesco (£2.50) as a temp. It adheres to the screen as a normal adhesive plastic one but the backing is magnetic so to insert and/or change disc you just slide the back off, replace the disc and slide the back on again. very simple and you don't touch the adhesive part so should last lot longer.

I have a magnetic disc holder in mine. Did you ever watch Reginald Perrin? when he thought of his mother in law he saw warthog, my disc holder has a picture of a orangutan on it.................. :giggle:

nope reggies MIL was a hippo

"Although mainly produced on video and shot on studio sets, the series also incorporated innovative surreal escapism through film inserts, notably during scenes in which, whenever his mother-in-law is mentioned, Reggie visualises a hippopotamus trotting along."

in the wifes car we have a sticker from monkey world i refer to as "the family photo" :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
