Rear wiper motor - estate

Featured Replies

Morning chaps,

I know this has been covered a few times, but it seems I have a dead wiper motor, basically a couple of days ago it just wouldn't work, then it made an effort but stuck midway through a wipe, after a couple of tries it worked again but only for a couple of wipes. After removing the wiper arm it seems to work better? My question is, has anyone had the same symptoms, and was it the motor? I can get a replacement for approx' 70 quid so not a big issue!

Thanks in advance -

Followed the above advice, but before purchasing a new motor took the cover off the old one. Gears wear encrusted with dried grease and dirt. I took the 2 moving parts out, cleaned and regreased them and re-assembled. Only took a few minutes. Rear wiper now works fine. Even the juddering on the return stroke when the screen was dry has now gone.
