Part Ex price for 2010 Fabia Elegance?

Featured Replies

Just been offered what seemed to be a good deal on a new Fabia Elegance 1.2 TSI Elegance. £12,500 inc £600 of options.

Plus 0% credit deal.

But, px price quoted on our very good condition, 29000 miles 2010 reg Fabia 1.6 Elegance was only £4500!

This is way below both the What Car value and Glass's.

We didn't accept the deal because the px was a nonsense.

What do others think?

Complete rubbish PX price that! I'm sure a few people on here would bite your hand off for £4500 for your 2010 Fabia!

Care to name and shame the dealer?

This was from Simpsons in Colne, Lancs. Normally get an OK deal from them, but not this time. Have emailed the MD as it's a family firm we've dealt with for around 16 years now so wondered what he thinks. Have begun looking elsewhere and already have been offered a better price for the new Fabia. Will drive down to see them and find out if they can offer a better PX than Simpsons. (Couldn't be worse, could it?) Even if they offered the same px value I'd be £500 better off because of the better new price. But if they did offer the same px I wouldn't accept the deal. Prob just keep the 1.6 Fabia for a while longer yet.

I have just asked for a px on a sep 11 vrs £13595 got offered £5200 march 11 1.2 TSI 86 13000 miles wot a rip off

p/x my 60 plate VRS last OCT 2011 2.5k only got £10.500 for that good job it was VAT free and the offer was still on.

just been offered £4.000 P/X for my 2008 sport with 24k miles should be able to do a lot better that £4.500 on a 10 plate fabia.

when I bought the fabia, I was going to order new from skoda, but the part ex they offered me for the fiat was £1000 below book price... so I walked away..

I guess they are trying to make up the money they loose in the vAT offer.

I bought mine, as a stock car from a ford dealer , who offered me the book price for the fiat (£1k more than skoda!) I explained what had happened, he started by not wanting to give me the money for the fiat , but I think he wanted the deal... he got on the phone, and sold the fiat to someone else in the trade, on the phone while I was there! then gave me the trade in value, and we did the deal.

I got my car from Simpsons there all the same dealers

This is not happening only in your Country. I think it is a kind of policy or what. In my case not only they gave me extremely low prices but 90% of dealers I contacted didn't wanted to make trade, so I wrote back to the factory to complaint about that policy. They did respond (that's really honors them) the next day telling that it is a matter of country's market rules and they are unable to interfere.

I do really don't understand why should I prefer a car of their again when they do underestimate their own products in the name of vast profit. It seems to me that they admit that their products are second class ones, while they don't.

Quite simply the country is full of used vehicles.

The dealers want people buying on Finance & on new vehicles.

The Pyramid system of the car trade thats been in operation for decades can not continue as it has done.

They need to get Insurance prices down for younger drivers to get more movement of used cars,

but then they would need to get more employment for young people, so that they can afford cars and insurance.

Manufacturers are slowing down the building of new cheaper cars, luxury ones are increasing in being manufactured for export.

I'm looking to sell my Fabia Monte Carlo and have approached the dealer for a buy back price. Two dealers have not even bothered to come back to me with a figure. I'm looking to sell it privately now by the looks of things. I got offered £10650 against a Quasqai so as long as I get that I'd be happy. You'd think they would be crying out for a 61 plate 1.6CR 105 with loads of options and 2800 miles on the clock!
