Ridiculous px offer

Featured Replies

Just been to my local BMW dealer for a px price against one of their used cars...£5800!

Might seem reasonable but the car in question is a 2011 (11) Fabia 1.6CR Elegance 105 with 17100 miles.

I left and sent an email to the group customer services department asking if that was how they like to make a profit...an improved offer of £8000 eventually came through but I can't see myself going back. Nice coffee/cakes though!

Dealers are advertising lower mileage ones than yours for under £8700,

seems like they were only going to offer £8000 because you were looking at something they could not get shifted & would be taking a drop on anyway.

Thats the car trade, you lost over 20% just as you drove your car out the showroom,

& now new cars are on offer very cheap.

Just had a look but couldn't find any...do you have a link please?

Ha Ha...tried that one. Nothing around £8700 for the same spec/year car.

No, there is one showing now at £9495 with 17100 miles,

thats Retail asking price tho, plenty on the go within the trade, other wise they can not sell them at under £9000 and still take a trade in against them.

If it's the black one you're talking about...it's mine!

There you go then, nice car,

have you got much interest or a buyer yet?

Thanks. Only second day advertised so early days yet.

Sold for £8850.

Glad you're sorted. Private sale always the way to go although appreciate it can sometimes lead to grief...

Sold my last two cars privately - went quickly and first to view bought on both occasions - neither buyer messed me about either. If you're unlucky you can end up dealing with a knobhead.
