I think basically it moves between the two settings memorised in the seat memory - so you need to store your current good position and your desired reverse position. I must admit despite having the manual I struggle to do the precise sequence required to memorise it so I just turn it off...

How do I set the memory on the seats/mirrors?

Yeah after re-reading and trying it again I still don't believe it works. Despite getting the memory tones etc on pressing the keys, it still seems like it never goes to / from quite the same position, meaning that after a couple of forward / backwards cycles it is quite far out.

mine works spot on

Does it always position back to its original position/setting when in Normal mode (not reverse)? If not, I would suspect the position sensor inside the Mirror.

mine always repositions fine - the one thing I can't get either the mirrors or seats to do, is to automatically reposition when a different key fob is used to unlock the car. Think I'll survive though!

gave it another go and think it is sorted now. Did anyone else notice the deliberate mistake in the manual - the functions for the L and R switch positions on the mirror switch are reversed for UK cars. My original paper copy of the manual is also wrong.

The L&R is a well known mistake. It is the same on the S2.
