just launched pulp fiction in it. it plays perfectly!!!

definitly want to get another screen, in fact should have a roof mount from a friend soon

You've got one very nice looking unit there!

That looks ace

I read in another thread that you can do sat nav through it' date=' how have you managed it?[/quote']

had a full SAT-NAV/TV/CD CHANGER install in my last car from clarion with a 7" motorised screen in the dash but the screen got nicked 3 weeks later :mad::mad:

so i still have the sat-nav system fully working sat in my loft bagged and boxed up, it comes with a remote eye for the remote control, and will just connect via AV to any screen(I.E. my shiney new stereo) so next week (which i have off  ) i feel a complete car audio overhaul coming. I have a new wiring kit sat here waiting(zero gauge with distribution block  ) to be installed, my sat-nav waiting to go in and i want to run the AV's ready for my roof screen and possibly an AV switch so other things can be used  , i'm also wanting to install a reversing camera(the unit even has a reverse switch line so that it automatically switches to AV input when you stick the car into reverse

i already have a slightly quick and cheap under floor install in my boot and fancy re-doing that to tidy it up so i think it would be good to get up early and get it all done in one hit :)

pics will follow if it happens ;)

Have you got any pics of just the new head unit in your car?

That is a very cool little head unit, it is packed with features. Would like to see how it looks in the car too. Have you noticed any major improvements in sound quality from your previous head unit? Also, is the head unit's DVD player multi-region?

  • Author

sadly not multi-region, yet  gonna look for a hack on tinterweb. got a pic of it in the car, will get it and stick it up soon.

no real improvement in sound as i had an uber alpine unit before, although watching a film in dolby digital is very very cool :D

right, gonna go get the pic :)

here you go, just went out and took these. we have the unit off, on mp3, on folder list for choosing where to go(the music carries on in the background) and on DVD(finding nemo :D )

the biggest thing to put people off i think is the size, because it has the 3" screen it is bigger than a 1 din unit. it is still a 1 din stereo but it sticks out a little bit further than normal to accomodate the screen.

other than this the only niggle's so far have been that if you turn the stereo off while listening to a song(haven't tried with a regular cd yet) it restarts the song from the beginning rather than resume the song, although this may not bother some(like me) it may annoy the hell out of some and also the PTY keeps turning itself on sometimes(happened twice now), atleast i think it does it on its own i may be doing something wrong

Looks sweet mate! I have my Nokia bluetooth button in exactly the same place too! Couldnt find anywhere else to put it! lol

Does the head unit have any security features? Like face off?

It is a very nice head unit, nice purchase!

  • Author

yup, face off. would go get a picture of it but it looks exactly the same as any other face off stereo

comes with the standard hinged box for the face but bloody big to accomodate the thing. like it very much indeed, can't wait for the camera to arrive and pick up the roof screen. not sure about fitting it though :o

btw thanks for all the good responces, nice to know other appreciate the same as me :)

Nice. If you need nay help with the camera or the roof screen, just gimme a shout and I won't mind giving you a hand. Have had plenty of experience with my cars! lol

A very pleasing head unit

about 40 miles and around an hour away according to AA, would have to really make it worth it.

saying that i do have a new wiring kit, getting a new pair of subs, want a new cap, have a reversing camera to do soon aswell as a roof screen to do soon so looks like a good day if a work shop was available :S

also fancy otally redoing the under floor install in the boot :o
