Door Handle

Featured Replies

I've just been out and replaced the rear lock mechanism - my door locks and unlocks again!

However, the exterior handle now does not sit flush - taken a pic to explain it better.

I've tightened up the little grub screw as much as I dare, as well as pulling the door release cable taught in the handle mechanism. (If anyone has done this I hope they understand what I mean!)

Any ideas?

Did you fit a new door lock?

There is a guide in the Fabia section on how to correctly refit the handle.

yes, new lock/motor mechanism

Did you swap the cable over that goes to the door handle? New ones are longer and need to be changed over with the original one.

re-used the cable from the old mechanism as I didnt have any alternative :)

Do I need to buy a new (very small) cable from the mech to the door handle? If so, do you have a part number?

Thanks for the help!

Very important did you remove the handle first? If you remove the handle you must hold it all the way out as you wind the T20 screw and repeat when tightening the screw back in as failing to do so causes a world of hurt
