Citigo with Webasto Parking Heater

Featured Replies

Winters have been extreme lately, so I'm gathering information about the possibility of installing a Webasto parking heater in my Citigo (arriving in October). http://www.parkingheater.co.uk/

When I asked my local (Danish) dealer in April, they said it wasn't possible to fit one. However, Webasto announced the smaller Thermo Top Evo 4 and it now seems to be possible. None of the local Webasto fitters have given me an offer yet, but I got an offer from a German garage near Hamburg (Germany is the cheap place to go for Danes hunting for a bargain). http://www.koberger-online.de/

The price for a Thermo Top Evo 4 with Thermo Call TC3 and other mounting bits (including the 7 hour operation) came to GBP 1.265,-

Not a cheap accessory but a comfort I'm willing to pay for. The TC3 module lets you send a text message from an iPhone app (or other phone) to start it up. You can even use it during summer to start the fans and get rid of the hot air in your parked car before you get in. I don't think the AC will turn on, but still... :)

Anyone have one of these or thinking about getting one?

I'd see how you get on. I know your temps are extreme but a lot of thinking has gone into getting the Citigo up to temp as fast as possible for emissions and economy. Such features as an integral exhaust manifold that has the coolant system going through it to warm it up quicker etc

There is no integration for auxilliary heating, however, there may be a 'PTC for cold climate' option on future models. As I understand it, this would only be additional heating and would only heat the cabin whilst the engine is running.

My car will be parked on the street as I'm living in an apartment with no access to a carport. The Webasto parking heater will therefore not only save me petrol on the first kilometres but also remove ice and snow and give me a nice warm car. I probably wouldn't get one, if I had a carport.
