about time i got my build thread started as i have done a few mods to the car

i bought the car from a kid in great barr near birmingham as i come from that way

after looking at a few vrs i knew this was the cleanest i could find for my money 4K MAX!!

it also needed to be yellow no other colour would be acceptable

the car is a 04 plate lemon yellow vrs standard apart from front mud flaps

the kid selling it also supplied rear mud flaps and said was easy to fit but never got round to doing it (was weary because if something come with car 9/10 times its because it don't fit)

the story is its his moms car and he just drives his work van but when i went to see it and buy it him mother was at work both times and he took her because there selling the car. (i latter found out that it wasn't her car it was his car but that didn't bother me was a tidy car) he took me for a test drive and was so impressed in how it drove and how fast it was seeing as my other car is a 1974 vw beetle.

after getting the car the first mod i did as i remember is getting some green carbon warp and wrap the heater vents then i got some depo HID headlights with 6000k xenon's,

since then i have managed to get a bargain with coil overs and bought some second hand good condition ones for £60 for bilstein coil overs.

i also have wrapped my front grill in carbon fibre and the gear stick surround also and fitted the rear mud flaps easy to do in end with help from a hack saw and put a pd160 intake on it and a cheap remap from blacksmoke remaps witch i am pleased with (killed my mates mini cooper s with it) and polo rear wiper and wind deflectors and a bit of green silicone for vacuum hoses

iv had the car since February and i love it so pleased with it.

Then my HIDS decided to SET ON FIRE!!!!!

cleaned all muck and sit out of the headlights split them with a heat gun and a screw driver. i was so gutted.

DONT BUY A YELLOW FABIA, IF YOU DONT WANA CLEAN IT ATLEAST ONCE A WEEK

done a few maps now egr delete easy

upper rev limiter easy set at 4500rpm

launch control easy

just a map I'm happy with

got a safe feature on it so i can't push turbo to hard when engine is cold

sock map between coolant -20 to 40

aprox 165bhp at 40 to 80

and full map at 80+ coolant temp

second map iv messed with torque limiter to what i feel safer on clutch

there only estimates though not proper dyno runs

I know mine kicks out some soot, but that is that a lot for a week?

Also a good reason for a darker colour car ha ha.

it was a long week went about 500ish miles in that week so wash a average week

How's your actual vs requested boost? Also what IQ/duration you running at 4k?

You've told your ECU never to open the EGR. You've not told it not to use it. Theirs a difference.

Have you logged this to check? Reason I ask but Icould be wrong as I'm quickly looking over your map is that its running MAP based not MAF. So the two other smoke via MAF maps you've enabled wont be having any effect.

As for other maps in your file.

Drivers Wish is pointless.

Torque limiter is pointless

Duration maps have been edited in a way the ECU no longer knows whats being injected. At the same time it makes the above iven more pointless.

Boost maps. Are you using block 2 or 1? If 2 then 1.65bar is a little on the high side. Plus is your actual boost similar to requested or does it overboost?

I surgest you spend alot more timing reading and learning how each map effects each other. Now to be fair your base file might not be the best starting point. Suggest you start from a blanck canvas. But at the same time you should of done this to find out how your bought map was altered.

the launch control doesn't bouncy it sit steady at just over 2k not quite 2.2 and doesn't bounce ect ect and i have got rid of the maf delete so i can use the maf maps to limit cold power

and iv only just put it on doing some boost tests very soon to check boost levels

also whats wrong with my drivers wish and torque limiter?

and I'm only learning i do need to read up more on it i like the advice

I'm glad your taking my feedback. It's what you need when learning.

I'm not going to tell you what's wrong with the dw, tl, duration maps as its obvious.

One word of advice. When learning stay away from software that does it for you. You won't learn otherwise.

No your not using the MAF sensor at all so your limiting fuel based on coolant temp is not working.

Have you carried out any logs at all when making the changes?
