What to do to my VRS?

Featured Replies

Had my VRS estate for a few months now, and looking to do a few bits to make it better/keep it running well, list of what had been done before I got it here - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/218421-sale-agreed-2006-octavia-vrs-18t-estate-4695/

It's already been lowered on coilovers, but it's a cheap'ish Vmaxx kit, and I think that's the first thing I'll be doing, replacing it with a set of Weitecs or similar.

I've ran a fuel flush, and will be replacing the fuel filter once the tank of fuel's finished.

Ordered a new pollen filter and air con cleaner today, so I'll get all the detritus removed from under the scuttle panel when I replace the filter.

Just done the 3" piping to the airbox mod today too - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/181301-airbox-mod-and-3-pipping/

Fitted a Forge 007P recyclic dump valve.

Keep looking at removing the N249, N112 and SAI systems, but it scares me, lol!

What else should I be looking at doing to keep it running right? Cheers. :)

First thing is a rarb!! lol Will transform the handling. Unless i missed it in the ad??

Really like the wheel arch extensions

No RARB as far as I know, any particular one I should look for, preferably not stupidly expensive? ;)

As stated i would fit a RARB

Would also get those wheel arch extensions colour coded to match the silver of the car.

They look good though

i would change the 'wood' console insert.

Nah, I like the contrast with the black, quite tempted by some of the door pillar ones to match too - http://www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk/SideTrims.htm

I like them, they make it look just that little out of the ordinary, it was them and the wheels that drew me to the car in the first place. You think silver would look good with the black door pillars like you have fitted? Undecided...

I think so yes. The black trims make a big difference I think:

The genuine part for the black trims is discontinued now (KGA 093 008) so they're just about impossible to find but they're just sections of black vinyl.

Tin of plastidip ordered, how expensive, lol! See what else I can spend my money on now...

Wind deflectors for the front windows, black vinyl wrap for the roof and dark tint on the rear glass

It's had 4 Heko wind deflectors fitted since the pics on the link were taken, quite liking them. Fancied tinting the windows for a while, but keep changing my mind! ;)

Great minds lol

Fit some 17" wheels. Remap. Ermm.

  • Author

Already on 17's, but I like them as they seem to look bigger.

Would love to remap, just need it to be reliable, and I know I'd drive it harder if it was, lol!

Mines been on for 5 years without issue?
