Little Problem when installing a low camera (PAL) on Amundsen+

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I try to install a reverse camera on an Octavia II 1.4 TFSI 2012, DSG7 originally equiped with OPC and Amundsen+.

I bought a composite camera PAL + a PAL to RGB converter dedicated to RNS315.

http://www.mgconnex.com/kit-camera-de-recul-ccd-skoda-columbus-amundsen-octavia-ii

I have modified with VCDS the following parameters:

  • Module 10 (Park assist) --> Byte 0, bit 5 from 0 to 1 (=provide camera info to RNS). I've let the bit 4 to 1 so that I have both OPC and camera menu on the Amundsen+.
    --> Byte 0 = 30
  • Module 37 (Radionavigation RNS) --> Byte 3, bit 6 from 0 to 1 (=camera installed)

Now, when engaging the reverse gear, the screen of the Amundsen+ lets appear the OPC image plus a new button for the reverse camera view. When clicking on this button, a black image appears with an "Options" button that is not clickable and that should correspond to the settings Color, Contrast, Light.

  • If I unplug the camera, I get an error in Module 37 (No video signal) when engaging the reverse gear. It seems that, at least, the synchro is received.
  • I also tried to replace the camera by an external PAL source (camcorder) with the same result (black image).

According to you, should it be a problem of VCDS configuration? Any idea?

For the moment I sent back the PAL--> RGB converter to the seller for testing it. No answer for the moment.

Thank you very much.

Regards.
