Body panels on Scout.

Featured Replies

Hi.

I'm a bit into detailing and my Scout is in desperate need of some tlc. I'm planning on a two step machine polish and Collinite 915 as lsp, but what can be used on the scout panels? It looks like theres some plasti-dip looking coating on them?

I'll try some ordinary dressing. Do you think Polytrol could be used? Thats my favorite remedy for plastics because it lasts longest of all the stuff I've tried.

i cant see why not test it on a small area first the body panels on your scout are the same plastics as the bumpers and black trims

It looks like the panels are made of plastic and then sprayed with som plasti-dip looking paint. I'll try some swissvax dressing first. Polytrol works best on ordinary plastic bumpers like the link you posted from detailingworld. Polytrol is a fantastic remedy on plastic. Works on everything from bumpers till garden furniture.

Panels are textured plastic (no coating nor plastidip), don't polish them, just use a decent trim detailer ;)
