Fitting.... RARB and Dogbone Mount

Featured Replies

Evening all.

Am about to purchase the above and wondered if I could grab a few tips from some fellow members. I am looking to fit both items myself as they seem pretty straight forward but just wondered if anyone can give me some tips prior to fitment?

Going to go with a THS Dogbone and a Whiteline RARB as I can't see myself ever buying coilies.

I read somewhere that the Dogbone bolts needs to be tightened with a torque wrench? is this the case? if so anyone know the settings? and whether I can use the old bolts or not?

also, whats the best setting to start the RARB on? soft and then tighten as time goes on?

any comments welcome

cheers

Hi Buddy, Whiteline is a piece of cake to fit and comes with good instructions anyway...

I would go for middle setting which will give you a idea of tigher handling.

As for the dogbone mount they are stretch bolts I believe as 2 stage tightening is required so I would buy new. Plus they are cheap.(same part numbers in VW/Audi/Seat dealers etc)

part number of the 2 bolts from gearbox to subframe are:

N10268302 tighten stage 1 to 15lbs then stage 2 further 90'

Bracket to transmision bolts are (1 per)

N10246603

N90597001

tighten those from stage 1 to 30lbs then stage 2 further 90'

lovely job. couldn't ask for a better response then that! cheers bud

also, replaced the oil breather pipe today from TIP to rocker cover due to the old one being split. old one was caked in crud. is that due to the fact that air was getting in or do i have a bigger issue?
