Wheel problem?

Featured Replies

So i've upgraded from 14" to 16" wheels. Problem is that isnt it a legal requirement that you have a spare tyre of the same size? In that case, i cant fit a 16" spare in my boot. What do i do?

It's not a legal requirement to have a spare at all! If you have a spare with an illegal tyre your car will fail the MOT but if you remove the spare completely it doesn't count!

Presumably your new tyres and old ones have the same rolling radius? If so you should be okay leaving the old one as the spare.

Just realised as well - space saver spares are nothing like the same as the normal tyres and they're fine :-)

Thats a myth, the spare isnt even on the MOT check list, doesnt matter either way.

Ah well, I was half right :D
