I have some DV of the Marlborough BBQ.......... does any one know if I can use windows XP home movie maker to edit/size/compress it and also burn to dvd or will I have to buy another program....if so what works best?

Yes... Windows Movie maker will do the trick... its crude but simple :)

XP MovieMaker will do the job, but the best software I've used is Adobe Premier which lets you do pretty much everything you can ever imagine doing with video! :D Not cheap though!
