Removing lights failure with vagcom

Featured Replies

I remember seeing somewhere on this forum (but I cant find it now) someone had given instructions as to how to stop the "lights failure" warning keep coming up - with vagcom.

It is now getting on my nerves and can happen as often as every 10 mins. No lights are out and I cannot see anything obvious. The solution then (I think) is to remove this feature with vagcom. I can periodicvally check bulbs manually.

Can the person who posted this please re post - sorry I can't find it.

Regards

John

It depends why it's coming on.... If it's being caused because it thinks a bulb I'd out, you can remove it by changing the instrument cluster code. If the warning is coming on because there is a faulty xenon level sensor then changing the code will not stop it in my experience.

I put in a few lines about removing the beep sound here:

Thank you this was the post I remember seeing.

Will have a go.

Quite often these things are done by recoding the dash panel. VCDS often gives you how the code is made up, there will be a number for each option, the sum of which makes the dash panel code. If you find out which number is for the bulb warning, subtract it from the current code to give you the new code.

If VCDS has a label file for your dash panel, the information will be in there.
