Hey guys. Cleaned my maf meter today and now it feels better?

Will be a fault in either engine or ABS, need a friendly member with VAG COM to have a look for you.

Hey guys. Cleaned my maf meter today and now the ASR light is on constantly, and the on/off button has no effect. I've tried reseting the ecu and it seemed to work at first, but after about 30 secs it's back on again. What have I done this time?

How did you clean the MAF? what is safe to use?

ASR light on (ESP in my case) is a classic sign of a knackered MAF I'm afraid. Either swap the MAF with a known-good item, if you can, or get someone with diagnostics equipment to have a look.

Oh, and beware: the ASR really *is* disabled, even though the fault is simply that the engine can't quite read how much air it's getting. Even more bizarre when ESP is disabled for the same reason

I'd advise waiting a while to see what has caused Octavia Red's problem before trying his technique, whatever it was, with your car

Hi all. I used alchohol to clean the maf. Seems to be recommended for cleaning these things.
