Insurance joy!

Featured Replies

Renewal is in September: just tried some quotes online and this year it's down to £323 fully comp, ZERO compulsory excess (!!), all the usual windscreen & courtesy car stuff, WITH free £1250 extra key cover included!!

Thought insurance was supposed to be going UP, but that's pretty good! :)

Cheers alan ,Sigs don't show when using mobile app

If I use my mobile, i use the normal site, then full version, don't want to clog my phone with apps .Enjoying your car, just met up with a member here in wales and sorted his mirror out

Loving it mate. Its back in next week for the aircon sorting!

It was through Moneysupermarket.com and the end company was 1st Central.

36, 11 years no claims, Firefighter, 3 points in nov 2007 (so only valid on insurance asking for last 5 years history, expired in DVLA's eyes), one non-fault accident 2 years ago.

Chucked the car in at £10k with 10k miles per annum.

Can't see it being beaten, but we'll see if it gets any lower in the next month up to renewal! :giggle:

I'd watch yourself with 1st Central, I'm insured with them this year. They charged me over £100 because I never had the exact dates for 2 accidents I was involved in; correct month and year just not the exact day :) and any changes cost 30-50 admin fee they even tried to charge 2 admin fees when I added the missus and changed the car during the same phone conversation......f'ing robbing gits!

Don't forget to try Quidco and Topcashback (other cashback sites are available) - link to your chosen insurance company through them and get cash back - Simples!

You could even use QuidcoCompare to compare quotes. Most of the major companies are on there offering cashback. Costs nothing to try it.

Many of us use mobile browsers, etc now - cuts all the crap like sigs, avatars, etc out

;)

Edit - see you prefer the 'full' site with all the clutter :p

To be honest, that sounds like almost every insurance company i've ever used, it's pretty standard practice, I think you'll find. They're not there to make friends, just money!

The non clutter one does not show your own content, people can have replied to a post I did not know about, as notifications only highlight very few subjects

That's a good price i just renewed my insurance for 354 which lat year i was 422 now I'm 25 with 7 years no claims so I was happy with the price

Only if you don't know what an avatar is ;)

:p

They do vary a bit - I found LV quite decent in that they did not charge to cover me for a day in courtesy car while mine was serviced.

Next company E-Sure wanted about £40. (Dealer's own insurance for it was only £15 !!)

Perhaps i'm lucky there as well then cos Parkview Skoda in Reading give you the option of £7 covered or nothing if you're happy with the £500 excess instead.

I always go for the latter... I like a gamble! lol

When I took my undamaged courtesy car back to dealer [ West Sussex Motors ] and went up to pay for their insurance they refused to take the money!

(Obviously know a good customer when they see one!)
