A little help with misfire/surging

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I took your advice and had my ECU remapped by REVO with stage 1(skoda octavia vrs 2002).

However the problem seems to be still there. The car is surging/misfiring on quick acceleration.

I scanned the car with VCDS lite and got this:

I have new coils and spark plugs and have tried changing them between but the VCDS always says it is misfire on cylinder 3.

When I unplug the MAF the car runs fine but much less power.

I have new N75, new forge recirc valve and the SPS device from revo :)

I am considering chaning the tip, maf and map sensor to try to fix this. I dont think there is a leak but Im not 100% sure.

Any thoughts? Should I maybe change the fuel ignitons?

Any help is very much appreciated, Thanks!!

if the misfire does not move with plug/coilpack then you need to look at the coil pack wiring. they get brittle due to the heat and crack/peal causing shorts to the rockercover. Pikey fix is to check and wrap with Electrical tape :D some people actually spend money on new looms and flashy heat shields.
