God Damn Stereo!

Featured Replies

Only had my car 2 days and the stereo is p***ing me off already......

Stereo Manual is next to useless as it tells you how to turn features on, but not how to turn them off again..........

Right then, how do you:

A) Turn off Traffic Announcements, far too bloody annoying!

B) Get rid of the "Tim 2H" thing from flashing up when you turn the ignition off!

C) Get a good setting for the Increase speed/Increase Volume mode???

Cheers

Steve

Press the TP button to turn off the traffic announcements.

The "Tim 2H" is automatic when you have the traffic announcements turned on. It records all TA's when the stereo is switched off. It should stop when you have done the above!

The volume/speed thing (GALA) is accessed going into the set up menu, by holding down the TP button for a few seconds.

I think my GALA was set to 6.

Actually - Jon TDI is partly right on the TP thing ;)

When you are tuned in say to Radio 1 on the A/F button, and you hit 'TP' it will enable it. It then switches over to Traffic Announcements. If you get an interruption and it's not one you are interested in, you can just tap the TP button and it will resume non-TA for that one time. Next TA interruption will still come along.

If you want to turn it off 'permanent' you just tap the A/F button (or CD, whatever) and it will turn it off.

I agree with the rest of his post though :D

A good setting for gala - cant remember on mine I think it was 4 but gonna try 6 as well, it takes a little finetuning :(

You can tell I switched to a MP3 player, can't you! :o

 - still, good memory :D :D

When I tap the A/F button, the TP symbol disappears for 2 seconds and then returns. I haven't tried the CD button yet.

it should turn to a little "tp" mine has stayed off all day! thank god :)

There are two tp display things - one is the one which shows on the left of the display, seems to appear when it's got RDS on the station. The other one is more obvious and you'll be able to tell when you switch like I described above :)

When the big 'TP' shows it will switch from radio/cd to TA stuff, otherwise it wont :)
