Following Des back from Marlborough yesterday, I have to admit my slightly modded furby proved its legs were still shorter than Des' unmodified octy. (Still very respectable though for a dervy rollerskate).

So, considering all those "in the know" know what mine's been tweaked to, any suggestions as to give it more oomph? Found out that I probably just need a bigger turbo - 6th gear was running out of puff at 3500rpm.

This is of course hypothetical. Just curious as to what more can be done which still keeps the car driveable and usable as a day-to-day tool. So no NOS or other.

To go much more you will need to uprate the injectors to flow the fuel required.

Buy and EVO or WRX of some description

or an octy vRS

Don't knock it m8 it's still pretty good......At one point I had to use 3rd gear. :eek:

X, I don't know much about Diesels but I shall do some digging for you, see what we can do.

Xavier, i think i remember reading your car is in a milder state of tune than possible with the mods on the car. Maybe a clutch upgrade and a tweak would release the full potential.

An FMIC would keep the smoke down.

Its not going to get near a modded 1.8t though.

Im not too sure about that Matt (sorry xav)

AMD originally claimed 240bhp with the hybrid turbo setup.. which is impossible without new injectors.

even now, they only claim 220bhp on the 2.0l engine and dont specifiy with the 1.9.

theres a guy on SCN.. Micky 32 who has a Allard stage 3 ibiza. with fmic-turbo-zorst-intake-remap. and hes aiming for 215bhp but hasnt had it dynoed.

I would say.. get a clutch, then get the map checked, maybe get a fmic if the wallet is deep enough.. and leave it there.

Yes I have seen the Micky 32 posts on ukmkivs and scn as well about the Allard phase three. Allard quote 220hp i think for their conversion but yet to proven maybe.

I assume their phase 4 must involve the higher flow injectors as they are quoting quite big gains.

IIrc isnt the phase 4 another 5k odd on top of phase 3 :eek:

so 10grand to net you a 260bhp diesel.. on top of the cost of the car...

you could strech a 330d beemer and chip for that

I'd suggest buying something that starts off quicker, you're approaching the point where bucks to bangs is getting too high.
