I am looking to adapt the power steering assistance on my 56 plate 1.4TDI, but am unsure of the correct format. Currently the setting is 10110 and assume that the 4th digit is the one to change i.e. 10120, 10130 etc but am unsure as the main topic on VCDS adaptions quotes a format 000121 where the 5th digit has to be changed, i.e. 000151. - Will increasing the number make the steering lighter or heavier?

2 Faults Found:

01117 - Generator Terminal DF Load Signal

27-00 - Implausible Signal

01598 - Drive Battery Voltage

07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent

I know from experiance last winter that the cranking speed is down, and while changing the battery eased the problem, I was always waiting for it to not start.

I recoded my Fabia's power steering from 10120 to 10140 for heavier steering.

The other fault is the common wiring issue at the two pin plug in front of the gearbox. Wire will be either broken or corroded.
