It's here (almost)

Hi,

Went and paid for my new toy yesterday. Well, that is what the finance controller reckons it is. I'm sure that she will change her mind when she finally gets to have a go.... Parked up in dealers compound swaddled in white protective film and no plates yet. Ordered mid December 2011, picking it up on Wednesday so a few more days wait won't matter. And the actual vehicle? Elegance in red, 4*4 DSG. Panoramic sunroof. Sand interior (bored with black and grey). Heated screen.

Did I really say a few more days won't matter??

I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!

Set aside the whole day on Wednesday to get out and enjoy. You won't want to stop driving it!

Based on your delivery date of the 15th thats 240 days lead time which is an awfully long time, were there any reasons given as to why it was so long!

8 months seems to be about standard for a 4wd DSG Yeti. From what I can make out, Skoda significantly underestimated the demand for 4wd versions. Also, I understand there is only one DSG supplier for the whole VAG and demand is massively exceeding supply. I know for a fact that it is the same with DSG Fabias.

I suspect it also depends on whether your dealer has allocated you a vehicle within his actual allocation - or added you to an already long waiting list. I ordered my YETI 1.2 DSG (2WD) on 4th July. Was contacted by my (local) dealer a week or so ago to say that its confirmed build date is this week - and that they usually add 5 weeks to that for delivery to be on the safe side - so it would probably be available for collection mid September.

But then when I ordered it I was told that they had a vehicle allocated to them for September which was available - which is what I went for - so its what I was led to expect..

Looking at the highly un-scientific waiting list and listening to others on here it seems the 4x4 diesels with 140 / 170 engines have the larger wait times - with DSG on top of that, adding even more.

added to the issue of a sunroof included in the order it made a long wait inevitable...............................

....a long wait inevitable...............................

Just settle down and carry on reading the 'Complete Yeti Forum'. There's a lot to learn there, from some knowledgeable people. It helps to pass the time.

A bit.

well, its here. it rained and it got very dirty!

first impressions after a v long wait - well built, comfortable, practical, agile and fun.

good handover from Birchwood Skoda in Eastbourne. And flaps / mats thrown in as an apology for long wait but there is someone else

on their waiting list who has been waiting lomger.

now to fit the satnav as per the instructions in the 'how do I' section. thanksto all who have contributed and sympathized with my 8 month wait.

You may as well fit mdi at the same time..... I know I am.
