sorry if this has been brought up before but i can't see the exact answer im looking!

the blank plate that forge do does this have to be replaced quick to stop water leak or does it leak a little water then stop? reason i ask is i intend on making my own blank plate but without a template to work from im stuffed if i can't remove it first.

but you have to remove the coolant pipe to get to the allen key bolts of the valve but you only loose a cuo full so just top it up !!

im at the machinist on monday to get a few made up ;-)

thats what i meant clive, only lose a little rather than it draining the complete system, how much can you do a plate for?

Shouldn't be difficult to beat Forge price, ESPECIALLY postage cost, think when i checked it was about £7.50 WTF!!!

i got mine off Ebay for £16 posted. Proper Forge plate with seal and bolts. still a rip off but can be got cheaper.

there is a fella on ukmkivs forum that sells the petrol blanks for about £1.50. i cant find him, anyone know who he is? i think it was olly with the white bora on air.

I just don't want to buy stuff at rip off prices unless I really have to, I can easy make a alloy blank plate at work but I can't unless I have a template to work from! My car is being built to the tightest of budget so if I can make it or buy it cheaper than the mainstream stuff then I will.

its not just about making a flat plate. the Forge 1 has an "o" ring and a recess for it to sit in. thats there for a reason no?

Gee is right needs a seal !! I will have a load made ready for sále in 2 weeks time the samé as the forge kit ;-)

Easy for me to do the o ring bit but I will wait until Clive has some made up, my car will be off the road for a few weeks any way.
