2 unwanted YETI

Featured Replies

My father has a 59 plate 4 x 4 petrol se spec. Which he is trading in for a new 140 diesel DSG next month unfortunately he passed away last week and the dealer is not being at all sympathetic . Thought with such a long waiting list for these cars someone on this forum may be interested.

Welcome,

If the dealer is unwilling to refund the deposit then just walk away and loose the deposit paid for the car, this will be the cheapest way out, surely any contract agreed to by your dad will now be dissolved anyway?

The dealer will have no problem selling the car anyway, it's not as if it is sitting there and been registered, it's still a new car.

If you wish to advertise the older Yeti on here then a Freedom membership is required.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Stevenoban. If the dealer is not being sympathetic in relation to the "new" car, surely the deal was between your Dad and the dealer. Your Dad is now, unfortunately, unable to complete the transaction, and the transaction fails.

I am very shocked about the treatment the dealer is giving you.

I would personally do the following-

1) Contact the MD of the dealer explaining the situation & naming the salesman with this atittuded & see what comes from it.

if not satisfied

2) Contact SUK Customer service department & complain about the specific dealer.

If still not satisfied, then as a last resort, walk away, loosing deposit, if you have to do this name & shame the dealer on here.

I was hoping that someone mite be interested in the new car all ready to go with no 7 month wait for it.

And not loose the deposit on it.

I suggest you give a few more details, i.e. what trim level, colour, extras etc. If I hadn't bought a 140DSG 2 weeks ago I could well have been interested, so someone else might be.

Whilst I'm sympathetic to the OP's situation, if he wishes to 'sell' on here he needs to join FREEDOM.

Vary sad to hear of your loss; I would normally welcome you to the forum but obviously your here due to distressing events.

Do not know the legal implications surrounding the order situation; people such as citizens advice could help there.

Oh you might also get support from the importers (Skoda UK) customer services department, their on 08457 745745

Re the car, then if you in the future decide to sell the original car, then give a few dealers a ring, I sold my first to a dealer and got a good price as they had no second hand stock of the model.

As another poster suggested you could post the details of the new order in the general Yeti Forum; someone might be interested, although you might not feel like helping out this poorly behaving dealership.

Hope of help in these difficult times,

TP

I'm just suggesting that someone might want to take over the order for the brand new Yeti from the dealer, given the 8 month wait for DSG models.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing away, but the dealer seems quite heartless in this situation.

Hello Stevenoban and welcome along

Good luck in getting this issue sorted, there's some heartless folk out there

Hi Stevenoban

Yes sorry to hear about your loss, but to be honest mate if you take the car your more than likely to loose more than just the £1000 deposit, due to the depreciation from when it leaves the forecourt till you drive it home, not to mention the road tax, Insurance etc. that you will have to produce before you collect it.

I may seem a little off here & unsympathetic, but if your father has agreed to a deal legaly the deal is with your "Father and the Garage", you have no obligation as a family member legaly to take posession of the car, or complete the deal, just leave it at that, whats the worst they can do ? Take your father to court for not completing the deal & taking delivery of the car.. I don't think any Judge or Lawyer in the country will continue with a court case that has no form of solution to the sad predicament that has occured..Escpecially when you produce your poor fathers death certificate.

But I feel you'll be out of pocket if you take the car as everyone is always looking for a bargain, and noone will want to pay the amount that the car is worth that your father or you have paid just to drive it away.

You have enough problems to deal with at the moment instead of A$$h0l3 salesman who think that they are going to loose out on their sales commission..

Regards
