SPI to MPI

Featured Replies

As in my previous post I asked the question of changing my Favorit SPI head to a Felicia MPI head, I've been slightly put off the idea by the non double valve spring arrangment on the Felicia MPI head, so just a quick question is it possible to retro-fit the multi point injection system off a Felicia onto my exsiting Favorit head?

Cheers

Kris

Yes, as was said in the thread. Externally, physically the heads are identical - everything from each will fit the other. Fitting the MPi gear and management to your existing engine will be fine, and probably the way to go if you intend on tuning it at some point.

Actually, one thing I'm not 100% on is the flywheel pattern - I'm not sure what the flywheel pickup (sensor) pattern is on the SPI models, so worth checking that before getting it all apart and then finding out it won't run!

Darren is correct you will need to swap to the MPI flywheel , also fuel pump is different and the plug where the engine loom fits in has the pins in a different order so altho it plugs in it won't work it needs 10 mins with the haynes manual wiring diagrams to swap over lol, you will need to fit the knock sensor somewhere too.
