Spare Wheel

Featured Replies

I am expecting delivery of Greenline Elegance in early September, I have ordered spare wheel as an extra but on reading the brochure it says it is not available on the Greenline model. Has anyone ordered this, and did it come with one.

The Greenline doesn't come with one and you cannot order one as factory supplied as the weight gain would invalidate their submissions re fuel economy and emissions.

Hpwever, the spare wheel bay is there and you can buy a full size spare wheel plus kit (jack, brace etc) from your dealer for somewhere in the region of £160. You might be abke to negotiate a lower price.

I received my Greenline a couple of months ago - no spare wheel.

Separately from the car itself, I ordered the spare wheel and the spare-wheel kit from the main dealer. Note that you need to ask for both otherwise you'll get just a spare wheel (wheel and tyre) or just a spare-wheel kit (cardboard box with a jack, brace and other assorted tools) Cost for both was around £135.

You get a wheel with tyre fitted, jack, etc. You also get a new smaller black-insert thing that sits inside the wheel when in the boot. It holds the jack, brace and other related bits and bobs. The original black insert supplied with the car is much bigger as it's designed to fill the entire void of no wheel being there.

The spare-parts guy kindly fitted it for me there and then, as I was with a toddler who was playing up. Took him 5-8 minutes to unpack, swap over and dress the kit.

It's much more reassuring to have the spare wheel onboard.

I don't have the Greenline but the 2.0 TDi I picked up last week didn't have a spare wheel either, and I have to have one as a Private Hire Chauffeur. I found mine on ebay at £128 with the fitting kit. The listing was made by a fairly local Skoda dealership so I called them directly as I wanted to discuss the possibility of coming to collect it instead of being charged £15 for delivery. They took the order there and then and honored the ebay price. It took them 2 days to get the wheel and kit in. Mine was supplied with a Continental Tyre, that alone must account for a fair chunk of the price.
