air suspension

Featured Replies

hi guys how much do you think it would cost to have air suspension on the fabia or the roomster

I would say 2-3k for a proper set up.

Speak to Luke at plush-automotive in Leicester, they sell proper kits and do an excellent install.

What are the benefits of fitting air suspension over the OEM fitting? I remember years ago my Dad had a horrible Citroen BX with air suspension, probably the worst riding car I'd ever sat in!

Citroen wasn't air, it's hydraulic and nitrogen.

Benifits of air mainly is being able to adjust the suspension height easily.

our new abulances have air suspension... they are off the road 80 % of the time with it breaking..... and obviously its a profession install! lol... going on that experiance, I'd avoid it like the plague... who knows though, car setups may be more reliable....

I had a cireoen BX, best riding car I've ever been in, never had a problem with the suspension :) they bounce if its knackered.....

I never had a problem with my air suspension. The system is fairly simple so as long as its fitted correctly, no problems.

With the correct dampers etc handles as well as any other uprated suspension.

its possible, that the system on the ambulances (4.5 tonne fiats) is fine for normal situations.... but they get driven flat out on blues, it cant be tested at the speeds we drive at on response until its actually being used for that, then it simply disintegrates.....

different situation I guess :)

I'd say the system isn't sufficient for the job then.

the phrase we use when taking them off the road and handing them back to the techs is "not fit for purpose..." ;)

Ahh yes of course it was. Constantly broken on my Dad's car too, in the end it meant the car was written off BER.

Nobody has said anything on the thread to make me want to consider air suspension though!

Has no-one been in yet to query what on earth air suspension is?

Just kidding :hi:
