New Skoda owner

Featured Replies

Hi, new to forums so excuse any errors before I go any further. I collected a 2009 Superb hatch a couple of weeks ago, can't believe how far they have come in a few years, all thanks to VW Group I suppose.

I do have one major gripe with it though, the Columbus sat nav, I have had better. I took the car back to the Skoda dealers explained it would only accept 5 digit postcodes, he advised me the V3 maps installed needed updateing to V7.2 this would solve the problem. So kind man that he was installed newer version maps, you got it, didn't make any difference at all. So back where I started he couldn't give me any answers to the problem except that it is an old model and would probably need updateing, cost wait for it £1800.00 fitted. If anyone can throw any light on this, is there a diy update or something, I'm not to clever on this tech' stuff, but if you can help, I wouldn't arf! be grateful. Apart from that its a great car and I am really pleased with it. Hope to join in more in the future.

Can't help with the Sat nav, but welcome aboard. I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to answer you. There's a lot of knowledge on this site. What lump is under the bonnet?

Hello Majik29 and welcome along

You need the firmware as well as the software update by the sounds of it.

Hello Alkip,

Thanks for that any ideas where I can get Firmware from. Is it a universal fix for all Columbus sat navs.
