noise from the vents/ climate control

Featured Replies

hi

hard to describe the noise really, but its only just started happening. best i can describe it is i can hear noise from behind the vents, sort of like when a kettle is first switched on, or radiators up in the loft.

ive isolated it to climate control, as when i switch it off, the noise stops, turn it on and it starts up again.

are there any likely reasons for this? is it anything to do with air con unit do you think?

thanks

Could be low on gas - I'm no tech but have heard this noise a couple of times.

Thanks. It's about due an mot so ill ask garage to check that out.

Cheers.

Mine did this when it was low on gas.

If you have access to VCDS get it scanned - there will probably be a fault code logged for low refrigerant pressure.

Get it leak tested and re-gassed if they can't find a leak. It is fairly normal nowadays for them to lose gas over a few years - if you haven't had a regas in 2 or 3 years I wouldn't be too worried.
