Steel rims From mytyres; 2 year review

Featured Replies

Bought a set of steel rims fitted with winter tyres from mytyres back in 2010. By chance while currently looking for some more winter tyres on oponeo, I found who manufactured the rims;

Oddly the rims mytyres supplied are not all the same, three are KFZ 8000 part number and the fourth KFZ LE8000. The latter rim is by far the better product; its rusting less (more though than a VAG) and the Skoda wheel trim fits perfectly. Sadly that cannot be said for the other three rims, particularly in regard to the wheel trim fitting, as there's a good visible gap between the rim of the wheel and that of the trim. Therefore I would recommend sticking with the VAG rims if you can, they are clearly the better product; in my case I left it to late in the year of 2010 to get things sorted and was subsequently left with limited choice.

Oh noted on the oponeo site that the KFZ 8000 rims can be bought separately for £33 (currently).
