Alarm interior sensor query (might me more for the techs on here)

Featured Replies

Right, after noticing the interior sensors didn't work on my vrs (I am aware of the need to only press the alarm fob once inorder to arm the sensors). I decided it was time to see if the sensor was even present, let alone working. I removed the interior light and found the little black box and came across the little switch on the box and it was set to the middle position (see pic)

I them moved it to the '+' position and it now seems to be working as it should. Does anyone have any ideas if this is coincidental. Or can somebody tell me exactly what each switch position is meant to do??

They are quite often turned off if the alarm keeps being set off accidentally.

The system in itself is very basic with very little in the way of adjustment.

See how you get on, basically + is higher sensitivity, 0 is off and - is low setting.

Brilliant, thanks for this. It does explain why it wasn't working at all though since it was turned off

Were the interior sensors an Optional extra? If not, where abouts are the sensors located as I've never seen them / noticed them

Ah cool!

Going to check mine tonight as they have never worked after testing it by setting the alarm and sitting in the back seat. I even waited a few minutes to see if there was a delay.

They are also enabled through vag-com on mine.

They are inside the interior light behind the grill.

The grill is for the microphone.

The sensor is a small flat plastic square that is stuck to the roof.

Think it's different on my car then.

Had a look and there is just the sensors behind the grill (look like little microphones) but no switch on there. Can't see anything else in there.

Have you taken the interior lights out? (2 screws) it's located on the back edge edge of the hole, furthest away from the windscreen

Can't see it no.

Had the light off and also took the grill panel down and there's just the black box with the microphone looking things on and the wiring for the interior light and dimming mirror there.

It's strange as it's enabled on the car and I have the little button on the kick panel to disable the interior sensors.

Your system is different then on the Cordie.

Yeh it must be!

Does the fabia have a black box behind the grill with 3 microphone looking things?

no.

It doesn't have any microphone looking things at all, apart from the one for the handsfree microphone
