Waste Veg Oil

Featured Replies

I have had my 1.9 Octavia since December and run for 18,000 mile on 100% cold filtered WVO.

Not even bought any diesel this year yet.

FANTASTIC economy too, and luxury with L&K.

Great car, it's only the running cost that halp me get over my Lexus LS400 cars.

welcome. I ran mine on the same for a few months, however i found after that time that she became a bit bound and after i switched back to diesel she ran alot better.

Hello simontaylor and welcome along

Which 1.9? Is it a PD engine?

Phil

I beleave you can run 20% bio in pd engines my dad and brother both run veg oil and have done for about 50 60k on each car but they are both old VE engines. They have a bio fuel still now so do it all and turn it into bio fuel.

svo in a pd engine will destroy the fuel system almost immediately

That's why I was asking if it was a PD.

The injectors aren't designed to pump veg oil to around 2000psi!

If it's a Mk1 L&K then it will be a 110bhp non-PD or a 130bhp PD.

As there very few of the latter, plus the OP has done 19000 miles without issue then I think we can assume it's probably the 110bhp version.

Yeh you're probably right! My father has that engine in a VW Sharan and has run it on veg oil with no probs and now running a digital tuning box. Solid engine.
