Hi all,

My MOT is coming up on Tuesday and i have just come across a problem.

My front windscreen wipers are very sluggish across the screen, and sometimes stop halfway across the screen.

Do you think this seems to be a motor problem or a seized linkage? There is no change of speed in the wipers when I select each different speed on the controls.

I have never done this type of work before, so can anyone please give a simple run through of what steps to do to fix this problem?

Is a likage common problem.Depends how corroded they are ,a good clean and lube may solve the problem,otherwise you need a new linkage sistem.

Use some silicon based grease or a raylon based ,those resist better against washing.

I lube the linkage at every polen filter change.

Linkage.

Pop it out, take the circlips out and clean up, pack with grease and reassemble. I initially did this about 6 years ago, and I repeated the exercise at Christmas.
