Ordered new compressor !

Featured Replies

Well its got to be fixed.!!

After searching around, I appear to have got a good deal. Skoda wanted about £548 for a new compressor, various auto factors around £350, ebay seller about £278 plus shipping.

So I thought about a used one. Got lots of replies, varied from £80 up to £162 - "its mint mate" they said, but could not warrant the mileage.

Thought about the AA warranty deal (£100 including road side assistance) - but salesman could not convince me that it would include the compressor or DMF if it ever fails.

Finally, since I have just bought a battery off them, turned to Euro Parts online.

There were four listed, the cheapest of which was £279 - but showing nil stock. however they say they can get one in 5 to 10 days AND the MIDMONTH30 deal still applies -- £189 delivered to my door.

Andy from Rossendale, whos cousin is a mechanic, and operated near to M1 J30, said he would put it on for me for £30. KwikFit have promised me a free re-charge after repair.

So I think I have come out OK. Phew another nightmare over.
