Paint Chips

Featured Replies

Bought the car used and have done about 1500 miles but have just noticed the amount of stone chips on the bonnet and top of the wings. Its done 25,000 miles but wasn't this bad when I bought it (could have been touched up). I've had a 1.4 in the past and can't remember it being particularly prone to chips and a couple of people at work have 1.4's and theirs are ok. Is it the red paint thats soft? I seem to remember reading somewhere about soft paint. Can I claim on warranty or is it too subjective?

Mines got 22k on the clock and has chips and scratches all over it :( I think the VAG range just have very soft paint which is a shame

Mines on 34K and I have quite a few chips on the bonnet and front wings aswell, it is a shame... :(
