Citroen C1 VTR

Same as this http://www.telegraph...oen-C1-VTR.html

Firstly - VTR - what's that all about? Some kind of pretence at this being a sporty car??? Anyway another courtesy car, 3dr in white. Initial shock "of oh my god I'm going to look like a right ponce in that" was closely followed by a 2nd shock of £7 sending the fuel tank up to 1/4 full. £7 for a 1/4 tank!!!!!!!! must be 1990 since I saw that.

You can throw it around, it's like driving a go kart. It revs hard, it'll do 65 in 2nd gear , and fairly zipped along the M62 for a couple of junctions. It was surprisingly civilised in 5th gear at 70mph, better than the 1100cc Saxos I remember driving.

On national speed limit country roads it was great fun, you aren't actually making good time, but it just feels like you're motoring along because of the size. With the windows down you can really hear the revs as well. It was an absolute hoot. I did about 60 miles on that £7 of unleaded and returned the car with fuel left in it, so that has to go down as cheap motoring.

The boot is tiny. I had 2 golf clubs, a bag of balls, jacket and shoes, and it was near enough full. Virtually every surface rattled the interior build quality is absolute pants. Electric windows, A/C, CD/stereo with aux in and power steering seemed to be the lot.

10 grand???? Fun for a while but seems overpriced to me.
