Hi My 2.5v6 has just cut out on my way to get filled up (fuel warning lightcame on) Have tried to restart it no go but big red "oil can" has popped up on the display. Have checked the engine oil & thats ok, would this light appear anyway after cranking the engine without it firing up.

Any suggestions please

Not sure, but If you've run out of diesel, the system might need re-priming. Friend dried out her 1.8d Escort last summer and I had to undo each injector while cranking in order to re-prime them with diesel.
